DJ 279 is known more, for bringing London’s airwaves the latest in Hip Hop on his legendary Rap Show on Choice FM and less  for spinning Soul Funk, Boogie, Disco & Rare Grooves from the 70s & 80s, but the fact that he’s able to do this so effortlessly should come as no surprise as a lot of Hip Hop’s classic songs have sampled music from this very same era.

“Numbers” as he’s fondly known is also a well accomplished club DJ who plays all over the UK and Europe. He started life at Choice FM as Steve Wren’s studio assistant before taking over the Rap Show in October 1992, and over the years he has gained many accolades for his work in clubs & radio, which include a Sony Radio Award nomination, 4 MOBO nominations as well as winning the UMA Award for Best DJ in 2007, an EMMA award & a few UK Hip Hop awards along the way.
